MARY FRANCIS CANEVIT-ALEXANDER

 has joined her beloved husband. She was 88 years old. Mary (or Nana) was a resident of Barstow, CA since 1959. She passed on at 0826 on July 27, 2012 at home with family and friends. Her death was due to complications of multiple illnesses. Mary was born November 7, 1922 in Beardstown, IL to Vivian Lee Gray Alexander and Ralph Francis Alexander. Shortly after VJ day she met the love of her life, George Henry Canevit, Sr. a decorated Marine. They were wed on April 9th 1946 and remained happily married for 54 years. She lived her life of faith by example. We will miss her and can already feel a vacuum on the earth and the prayers of the Saints with her passing. Mary is survived by her sons George Henry “Skip” Canevit, Jr, Michael Edward and his wife Peggy Canevit, and daughter Renee Mechella Canevit Hughes, along with 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, a brother and sister-in-law, and close friends, of the family Tony Perez and Linda Miezitis.

She lived her life with no regrets and stopped to smell the roses.
